Hello to you all..

Please read my story..

I am 45 year old, born and bred lass from the North East of England.

One of four daughters who were all patiently taught from our dearest mam how to knit, darn and sew.

Thanks to these old traditional teachings and gaining high school qualifications in textiles and graphic design I then had an amazing learning opportunity after leaving school, assisting in small sewing projects for the Fashion Design students at Newcastle University. This consisted of preparing and making up bespoke garments for the end of the academic year fashion show. This wonderful experience helped me towards a six year career at Dewhirst Limited, Menswear Division manufacturer of suits for Marks & Spencer.

Due to glorious motherhood my career options changed immensely.  Nine years as Secretary for an Accountancy firm then moving onto a two year teaching spell in ICT. This made me realise my new employment knowledge could be largely beneficial on setting up my own business, particularly in an area of work I feel passionately about and especially, when l know I will serve my business success by ultimately understanding my customer needs.

As the 'make do and mend' culture continues due to recent economic downturn I want to encourage this trend by selling a popular fabric which is exceptional in quality, value, with a wide choice of colours and prints

and is constantly available. Since the televised 'The Great British Sewing Bee' a clear niche has evolved in this type of consumer market and there is nothing more rewarding than making something new and proudly saying to friends and family ‘I created this’.

I hope you have many enjoyable shopping journey with Fabric Circus and thank you, for being part of a new chapter in my life.
